The times are truly changing for this vibrant, expanding industry. We have seen in just ten years how resident involvement can give a new perspective to the vision of partnership with providers.

CALCRA has had a glimpse of what the future may bring. That glimpse will be the catalyst that drives our efforts in the years ahead toward an open and trusting relationship with providers. CALCRA wants to help to create a climate in which divisive attitudes are at a minimum, especially those attitudes which result in distrust and suspicion between residents and providers. The perfect world that we envision is one where there is no other option except living together in harmony. This necessitates creating an atmosphere of open communication and trust where ideas and concerns of both residents and providers are heard and acknowledged. The result will be the continuing success of the concept of continuing care.

To continue with our glimpse of the future, CALCRA sees communities that reflect ethnic, racial and religious diversity in keeping with demographic changes. These changes can only enrich the lives of all residents and make continuing care facilities more attractive to the coming generations.
