N.Y.; MBA, New York University; MS, MIT. Fifteen years

with CBS including Assistant Treasurer and

Vice President and Assistant to the President of the

Radio Division. Vice president and chief financial officer

of several Fortune 500 companies in California. Served

on a number of boards of directors. President of home

owners association prior to moving to URCAD.

Spent 30 years in human resources with various

corporations. Co –owner of lumber brokerage corporation

until 1993. Background with CALCRA goes back more

than 13 years. During that time served on CALCRA's

board of directors in every capacity except treasurer.

President of CALCRA from 1998 to 2003.

Born in Chicago. BS in Nursing, Northwestern University;

MS, University of Rochester, New York. President of the

Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups, a statewide

advocacy, education, and public policy not-for-profit

association. Faculty of the University of Wisconsin –

Milwaukee. President/CEO of the Mental Health

Association in Milwaukee County. Chair of the Milwaukee

County Commission on Aging for several years. Served

on several boards of directors as well as the Governor's

Council on Mental Health. Currently chair of the Health

Education Coordinating Committee, political and current

events discussion group leader and a facilitator for the

Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group at Eskaton.

of Technology; both in chemical engineering.

Professional engineer for over 40 years in the chemical,

petroleum, rocket and nuclear industries. Member of the

board of a homeowners association with 5,000 members,

served as chairman and member of a county solid waste

and recycling commission, elected twice as commissioner

of a fire district. Served on the Resident Council and on

four committees.

Member of the CALCRA board since 2007.

Owner of an employment agency; worked in the insurance

field opening an agency in Encino, now owned and

operated by his son. Member of the Agents and Brokers

Association and a delegate to the California Legislature.

Devoted time to both local and national Zionist institutions

serving as an active member and president of several of

them. Helped found Stephen S. Wise Temple, now the

largest Jewish Congregation in the US. Served on the

Resident Council, president for three years.

Representative to the board of directors of Hyatt for two

years. Member of the CALCRA board since 2006,

chair of Membership Committee.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska. BA in Sociology from Knox

College, Masters in Public Administration from Golden

Gate University. Thirty-six years with the State of

California in a variety of social service programs. Last

assignment was with the Department of Aging providing

home and community-based services to frail elderly on

MediCal. Oversaw local programs that kept frail seniors

out of nursing homes by arranging and overseeing

necessary services like home-delivered meals, respite,

transportation, and in-home aides. Did evaluations of

local programs, analyzed policy and related legislation.

Active on URC Health Services Committee and its

Quality of Care in Skilled Nursing project; chaired

annual Bazaar in 2007 and 2008; currently on the

Resident Council and Vice President of local CALCRA

chapter. Member of the CALCRA board since 2009.

worldwide satellite tracking and classified surveillance

systems at Aerospace Corp. Department head on the

staff of the Director of Central Intelligence. Trained as

certified financial planner in Health Insurance Counseling

and Advocacy Program (HICAP) specializing in financial

aspects of Long Term Care. General Partner in a number

of real estate projects, mostly involving apartments and

condo projects in California.

career in education culminating as Superintendent of the

Western Sonoma County High School District.

Subsequently an account executive for Teacher's

Management and Investment Company; worked in the

travel industry. Fellow for the National Academy of School

Executives. Written four books and numerous articles for

education magazines, vice chairman of the resident

council, chairman of the Information and Education

Committee, member of the Finance Committee, president

of the AFVW Foundation, one of four editors of the

monthly newsletter, "The Villager."

investment committees. Long term care Ombudsman at

U.S. largest skilled nursing facility. Member of the

Continuing Care Advisory Committee since 2003.

Member of the Continuing Care Contracts Branch Statutes

Revision Task Force and task force to develop statutory

requirements for CCRC actuarial studies. Past member

and chair of the Finance Committee of San Francisco

Towers Residents Council.
